Since rice protein is considered to be the least allergenic of all  protein sources available, these bars will be the obvious choice for those  patients with whey protein sensitivities. Please note also that all the Premier Protein DF bars are made primarily with two  high quality fat sources, almond butter and coconut oil. Almond butter is high in healthy monounsaturated fat and coconut oil is high in lauric acid.

Conversion of maltitol and erythritol (the sugar  alcohol portion of carbohydrates in this product) and glycerine requires little or no insulin and does not cause a significant increase in serum glucose levels. The Net Carbs are calculated by subtracting the dietary fiber (5g), and other low glycemic carbohydrates including sugar alcohols (14g) and glycerine (3g) from the total carbohydrates (28g). Individuals who monitor their carbohydrate intake may deduct these low glycemic  carbohydrates from the Total Carb count (in the Nutrition Facts box) due to  their minimal impact on blood sugar levels.
